Apple Pulls Porn from AppStore
Posted by Justin on Feb 22, 2010, Categories: Apple Stuff
Apple, in a bold move, has decided to pull all sexual/porn related applications from the iPhone App Store. No more bouncing breasts, no more sexual innuendoes, and certainly no sex-related games allowed anymore.
Could this be in preparations for the iPad, or Apple just trying to clean up their image?

Hulu and the iPad
Posted by Justin on Feb 19, 2010, Categories: Uncategorized
Everyone is talking about this today, so we will also. Hulu is looking at releasing an iPad-native application, and charging for a subscription to their service. The company is already cash strapped because of advertising on the web being much cheaper than advertising on television. This may be their reason for charging a subscription, but to charge and compete with iTunes?? To the victor goes the spoils....or so they say...

Posted by Justin on Feb 17, 2010, Categories: Uncategorized
Gawker has an article posted today discussing the price war between the NYTimes and the iPad. The Times wants to charge $20-30 per month for an iPad Time subscription, mainly because they are afraid people will cancel their paper subscriptions. Despite this, the Times already offers a free electric edition to subscribers who do cancel their paper versions.
Do you think they should charge these fees? Their costs are already dropping since there is no paper charge or delivery charge.

Posted by Justin on Feb 16, 2010, Categories: Apple Stuff, Uncategorized
After years of fighting off publishers wanting to write about him and his legacy at Apple, Steve Jobs will finally allow a biography to be published about his life. Supposedly, Jobs is going to be working side-by-side with Walter Isaacson according to a story on Cult of Mac. Mr. Isaacson has written biographies about other great people in history such as Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein and Henry Kissinger. This is the first time that Mr. Jobs is allowing a book to be published about him and his life. A few years back, Mr. Jobs told publisher Wiley & Sons to stop printing...

This is my first official post on The Big Apple Blog. Six months ago, I was working in Public Relations making phone calls all day to reporters who could care less about the clients I was pitching and writing press releases for news that made no sense and nobody cared about. I mean really, who wants to hear about a social network for youth sports when Facebook can do the same thing and make it a lot less confusing? Exactly...you don't. So after my two years in Public Relations came to an end, I got a chance to come work full-time...
