I can't tell you how many people I know that have said, "if the iPhone ever comes to Verizon, i'm switching!" Well fight fans, the battle between iPhone and Android on Verizon Wireless may soon come to an end. According to a story in todays Wall Street Journal, the new iPhone will be announced in June at WWDC and will be CDMA ready. For those of you that don't know, CDMA is the cellular technology Verizon uses for its network. The addition of the iPhone to Verizon Wireless would make both Apple and Verizon an unstoppable force. Verizon Wireless has 91.2 MILLION subscribers...

iPads on trucks
Posted by Justin on Mar 29, 2010, Categories: Apple Stuff
Some people have been reporting that their iPad order now shows a tracking number - how exciting! Shipping from China via UPS expedited service to arrive on April 3rd. Not all are showing tracking yet though, but check in the morning (the order status website only updates once a day). Also, Best Buy is ready for their iPad sales, but apparently on release day, each store is only getting 8-12 iPads!!! In Manhattan there is one Best Buy on the Upper East Side that handles something like 750 thousand people. 12 iPads, 750 thousand people. Say it again! C'mon Apple...

Wall Street Journal pricing for iPad
Posted by Justin on Mar 26, 2010, Categories: Uncategorized
There is a lot of buzz around the new pricing structure for the famous Wall Street Journal. Currently, the print edition of the WSJ costs roughly $29 a month. The buzz for the iPad version - $18/month. Apparently this isn't an official statement from the WSJ, but is cost justifiable? A lot of cost for larger newspapers goes towards printing, and with an electronic version that cost just isn't there, but is it worth $11 per subscription? On top of all this - you can just go to the WSJ's website in safari and just read the...

Think Twice Before Bringing That iPad On-Board
Posted by Justin on Mar 25, 2010, Categories: Apple Stuff
We've all heard it before. "Please step to the side for additional screening." I'm guilty of leaving change in my pocket or a belt on when walking through security at the airport. The biggest pain comes when you have to take your laptop out of the bag, put it in a separate bin and hope you have no issues with it going through the screener. But what about your iPad? My iPod Touch can stay in my backpack and go through without any problems so why can't my iPad? Since it's not officially a laptop and it's not a netbook, will...

New Creative Suite Set To Launch On April 12
Posted by Justin on Mar 24, 2010, Categories: Apple Stuff
In a bid to smooth things over with Apple, Adobe is set to launch the next version of its Creative Suite and include features within Flash that will allow Developers to use the software for App creation. Adobe is trying their hardest to keep the lid on the features for it since they are hosting a video broadcast of the launch event on Adobe TV. CS5 will allow developers to create flash-based iPhone Apps and then export them to meet the App Store's .ipa standard. Let's hope the rumors are true and App development becomes a lot...

Posted by Justin on Mar 23, 2010, Categories: Apple Stuff, NYC Stuff
Being a resident of NYC, I often go by the Apple Store on 5th Ave. I hardly go in there, unless I need a new pair of iPhone headphones (yes I use them with my HTC hero). According to Philip Elmer-DeWitt of Fortune Magazine, there is a Cornell study that figured out the glass cube which is the Apple Store on 5th avenue is the 5th most photographed landmark in NYC, and 28th in the world! In NYC the five most photographed landmarks are:
- Empire State Building (which is 7th in the world)
- Time Square
- Rcokefeller Center
- Grand Central Station
- Fifth Ave. Apple Store

Now Software is no more
Posted by Justin on Mar 23, 2010, Categories: Uncategorized
The makers of the famous Now Up-to-Date and Now Contact have suspended day-to-day operations. Now Software released version 5 of their calendar/contacts software a few years back with hopes to come out with the new Nighthawk (or X version) of it. Unfortunately Nighthawk became something of vaporware. Even when the beta was released just a few short months ago, it was no where near complete. The current website has been redirected to a Google Sites page, but you can still download the installers of all their software. I personally have used and installed the Now...
