iPhone in Canada has posted that even though 10.6.3 was just released at the end of March - Apple has made a move to prepare 10.6.4 to developers.  10.6.3 brought a lot of fixes to Snow Leopard, including a lot reliability and compatibility of 3rd party devices.  10.6.3 was in development for over 3 months - if Apple sticks to that time frame, 10.6.4 should be released early summer of this...

3 weeks down – an iPad update

So I've had my iPad now almost 3 full weeks and I'm finally ready to report on it. Let's talk about the facts: I live in a small apartment, and literally have 7 computers at my finger tips - do I really need an iPad? Sure!  While I can grab my laptop to look up where a particular actor was last seen, or search for a restaurant in the latest Anthony Bourdain show - it seems more intuitive to just use my iPad.  It sits on my coffee table (mostly) ready to be used at a moments notice. The games for the iPad are...

Someone here at the Big Apple Blog should read this because he or she could probably benefit from it.  I won’t name names or anything but the green haired person knows who they are! An excellent security feature included in the current iPhone OS is remote wipe.  If you lose your phone or it gets stolen or YOU LOSE IT IN A BAR, have no fear it can be fully wiped as if it were never yours to begin with. Here is a quick guide to plan and prepare for something like this using the remote wipe feature. 1)    Setup a Mobile Me...

The war between Apple and Adobe has finally ended. Adobe has raised their white flag and dropped all attempts to bring Flash to the iPhone/iPad. According to an article on CNET - Adobe's principal product manager for Flash, Mike Chambers, has been quoted as saying "Flash has always been to enable cross browser, platform and device development - however this is the exact opposite of what Apple wants."  Chambers is referring to the new iPhone 4.0 Software Development Kit (SDK) license changes that Apple recently released.  According to the SDK license, only Apple approved coding, such as...

And loses his top secret prototype iPhone! One of the most respected tech blogs out there, Gizmodo, supposedly purchased a stolen prototype iPhone for $5,000.  Chances are that this phone is most likely getting announced in June at the Worldwide Developers Conference. Today, Gizmodo was sent a letter from Bruce Sewell, Apple's Senior VP and General Counsel asking for the phone to be returned to them immediately. Was it real?  Was it fake?  Did it have iPhone 4.0 software on it?  What do you all think? Read More

Apple updated their store yesterday to reflect a new shipping date for the iPad 3g model. Pre-orders for iPad 3g have been taken since the middle of March, and with the high demand of all iPad versions we wouldn't be surprised if only those first few pre-orders ship. Good luck and let us know if you get yours! Read More

Mini Display – HDMI Finally, one connection that does it all, a mini-display port that can connect to the HDMI port on your TV. Ah remember the days of connecting the red, white and yellow cables for audio and video? We have come a long way. We’ve seen other reports about this and some are suggesting that the reason Apple decided to put this in the new machine’s is because they are going to make their own adaptor for it and find another way to lighten the load in your wallet. While I’m sure that will eventually be the...
