Apple Stole Tom Hanks’s Comic Book Idea

Do you remember the 1988 classic Big, you know that movie where Tom Hanks is actually a 12 year old boy who becomes a grown-up because he wishes to become big. Well in that movie Tom Hanks’s character, Josh Baskin, gets a job at the MacMillan Toy Company; there he pitches an idea for an interactive comic book. Essentially the kid, who is reading the comic, chose what happens next and decides the outcome of the story. Apple has filed a patent for an application called “Automatically Generating a Book Describing a User’s Videogame Performance”.
The user creates a character and plays through a video game the application records the decisions and actions that a character makes. When the game is finished all the information will be combined into a comic book retelling your adventure. Of all the movie inventions I though I would see in my lifetime this wasn’t one I even thought about. I’d rather see Nike create the shoes with the self trying laces, from Back to the Future: Part II, but you take what you can get.
