Apple released 12-core MacPro into the wild

Apple announced the 12-core MacPro at the end of July, and released them for purchase yesterday. The machine comes standard with either a single quad-core Xeon W3530 processor running at 2.8Ghz, or a dual Xeon E5620 processors running at 2.4Ghz. The maximum upgrade is a Dual configuration allowing 12-core’s running at 2.93Ghz. There are more configurations, but let’s just leave it at this machine is a beast!!!! Apple even includes the option to put in 4 512GB Solid State drives (no speed readings available on apple’s site).

The dual processor 12-core machine with just the upgraded processor starts at $6199. So if you are really into video editing, or a millionaire who wants to check their email – get this machine immediately!
