We all know BMW is good at making luxury cars, and they are usually the first to implement new technology into their vehicles. You might have to pay through the nose to get any options on a BMW, but such is the price for being the first to have something. Well the folks at Bayerische Motoren Werke AG have been hard at work to bring you another first in the automotive world.
BMW has announced that they have been working on a new way to integrate Apple’s iPod with their iDrive system, which was also a first in the automotive industry. While I am personally not a fan of the iDrive system I am excited for the new iPod integration system. In my opinion the iDrive is the perfect companion for an iPod because spinning the knob to find what you are looking for is very reminiscent of the original iPod. The interface will allow the user to access most, if not all of, the functions of their iPod via the display in the car. BMW posted a video to YouTube demonstrating this new integration system.
