Late Night News – FaceTime Security and Facebook Zooming

FaceTime iconWith the FaceTime beta being release merely 2 days ago, a major security flaw has been fixed. The new video chat application allows users that are logged into to easily alter his/her Apple ID and password. Now while that doesn’t seem like a huge security risk – anyone sitting in front of the computer can make those edits. The best security – don’t leave your computer unattended while FaceTime is running.

Nevertheless Apple has responded to the public outcry and patched the issue with a server-side workaround. Now when you click the “View Account” button in FaceTime nothing happens. It’s a strange work around, but since FaceTime is only in beta – let’s take what we can get.

Also in the news right now – FaceBook has added a new line of code to it’s mobile site. If you go to Facebook.com on your iPad you will notice you can no longer punch and zoom – b/c somewhere in the HTML code is “user-scalable=0“. This keeps you from zooming. No word yet if it’s intentional or accidental – but it just doesn’t work anymore. Sorry FaceBookers.
