As we enter the last month of the 3rd quarter for 2010, the estimates for Apple’s earnings are already coming out. Apple could possibly sell about 3.8 million Macs for this quarter alone. That would be a 23 percent increase from the same quarter last year. Wall Street analysts have estimated that Apple would sell 3.7 million Macs for this quarter.
If Apple does indeed hit this mark, it would crush the record it set for the quarter ending in June of this year when they sold 3.47 million Macs.
Here is the kicker to all of it. Apple has actually LOWERED some of their prices. I’m looking at you all of you Windows lovers who say Macs are too expensive! The average retail price of Macs has fallen 2.9 percent in September compared to 2009. So Ha!
Whether they break the record and sell what it is estimated or not, that is A LOT of Macs!
