Apple’s smallest Mac, the Mac Mini, is in short supply Major vendors such as Ingram Micro have none in stock, and according to their ETA the earliest either of the two configurations will be coming in is middle of July!
With Apples Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) just a few short days away – could a new Mac Mini be imminent? The rumor mill has gone a bit crazy about both a potential refresh of the Mac Mini and the Mac Pro. WWDC doesn’t sound like the forum to have such a refresh but the numbers just make sense. It’s been about 9 months since the last refresh of the Mac Mini which fits into Apples “standard” refresh timeline. Also Apple has, in the past, used the event to make announcements about their professional lines (Mac Pro, and Xserve).
Apple recently changed from using the Core 2 Duo chip (still found in the Mac Mini) to the i3, i5, i7 chip in their pro laptop series. Many Mac Mini lovers (and there are A LOT of them), believe the small framed computer will get either HDMI output, or eSata, or even a new internal SSD drive.
