Today’s Tech Tip Tool Thursday focuses on some of your favorite and most used gadgets, your iPod/iPad.
When most of you get a new device, you plug it in your computer and just let iTunes manage the device for you. Now this is ok if you want iTunes to sync your device every time you plug it in. However, by allowing this, you can only plug your iPod/iPad into that specific computer and no where else. That means if you are on the go and need a charge, you can’t use a different computer. You can only use a power outlet which can sometimes be a pain in the butt to find if you are in a jam.
However, by letting iTunes manage your iPod/iPad for you, you never wind up having music on your iPod/iPad that isn’t in your iTunes library. If you do decide to manually manage it, you can add music from other libraries but that music will not be accessible in iTunes.
In order to manually manage your iPod/iPad plug the device in and make sure you check the box next to “Manually manage music and videos.”
That is all there is to it.
