Tech Tip Tool Thursday – Spaces, Spaces And More Spaces!

How many of you fan boys and girls love your 13” Macbook Pro’s?  They are so light and so cool that you just can’t contain yourself, I know!

However, some of you are not so keen on the screen size and complain that you don’t have enough room to do your work.  There is a quick fix for this problem, I promise.

Today’s Tech Tip Tool Thursday is all about an application called Spaces.  Spaces was first included in OS X 10.5 or “Leopard.”   Spaces is exactly what you may think it is, virtual spaces on your computer that allow you to have up to 16 different virtual screens at once.

It is easy to set up and even easier to use.  Start off in System Preferences and select “Expose & Spaces.”  Click on the Spaces tab at the top of the window and check the box next to “Enable Spaces” and voila, you just enabled spaces.

At the bottom of the window, you can decide what key command you would like to use in order to activate and switch between all of your spaces.

For those of you familiar with Expose, you can also choose to enable spaces with that.  For those of you not familiar with Expose, stay tuned for next week’s tip where I will talk about Expose and how you can make tasks like switching between spaces even easier with a simple move of the mouse.

If you have questions or a topic you want to see included in an upcoming week, let us know!
