Says Apple!
Apple put out a Press Release today discussing the issue of the signal strength of the new iPhone 4. Apple is claiming that the formula used to calculate signal strength is completely wrong. Apparently with the “bad formula” mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should, so when you see it drop by 2 it’s really showing the actual signal strength, but then you multiple it by 1.3x and add your age, and well it’s just confusing!
Either way, Apple says they are working on a software fix that will take care of this alleged issue which will be released in the new few weeks.
