347-369-4878Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, met with Chinese government officials today regarding issues with iPad trademark and local labor treatment. China is Apple’s second largest market, which is the largest overall mobile market in the world. Cook met with the Mayor of Beijing and visited one of the Apple retail stores. Apple is also in a legal battle with Proview over iPad trademark rights. The company (Proview) mentioned that they would fight Apple for up to 10 years if needed. Foxconn Technology Group, the manufacturing company based in Taiwan, is being reviewed by Apple regarding accusations of running sweatshops in China. Although Apple has released monthly labor data showing an 89 percent compliance with the 60/hr work week law, they think they can do better. If all goes well with Chinese officials and the largest telecom China Mobile, Apple could be shattering more sales records this year.
