So I was on the Amtrak Acela the other day coming back from a business meeting in Boston, when a nice gentlemen all suited up sits down and witnesses my pimped out MacBook Air. ”Ah Apple folk, eh?” he queries. Then continues to ask about why I don’t have an iPhone (for those who don’t know I have an HTC Hero on Sprint). I talk about how AT&T tried to rip me off one day when my MLB program on my iPhone went off in Canada, and how they charged me $950!! So at this point I go into my rant about how I really do hate cell phones. I mean there isn’t 1 great phone on 1 great network. So I proceed to ask him what he does and he works for none other than Verizon Wireless!!!! How embarrassing.
So of course my first question was “When is the iPhone going to Verizon” which of course would solve my no great phone on a great network problem. He looks at me slyly and says “I don’t know” like with a look, and then perked up and said “no really, I don’t know”. Which sucks but it’s ok. Either way this guy was very knowledgeable.
So we get further into conversation and he explains how he handles the technology for the big 400 named companies, but I told him I’d be giving out his email address for those business customers that want to get Verizon phone deals.
So thanks for a great ride back Marc.
