Apple ID has been renamed to “Apple Account” in the latest round of Operating System releases
With the recent release of macOS 15 Sequoia, iOS and iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, and VisionOS 2, Apple has finally made the change to renamed Apple ID to Apple Account. It makes sense, since Apple Account is an actual account with data and information in it, where as “Apple ID” was more of an identifier, like an email.
How does this affect you as the user of any of Apples devices? It really doesn’t – however it’s just something to note if you are reading any old tech articles, or receive instructions about your “Apple ID”.
If you are dealing with any Managed Apple IDs *ahem* Apple Accounts, you will see these changes reflected in your Apple Business Manager as well.
A small change, but a good one.
