How to Disable Find My
In order for us to run any diagnostics on your devices, Apple requires you to disable "Find My". This is to provide security for you and us.
Do not select “Erase This Device.”
Erasing completely wipes the device and removes its data. You only need to disable Find My or select “Remove from Account.”
Disabling via iCloud.com
- Head over to iCloud.com on a different device than the one you are going to turn Find My off of.
- Sign in with your Apple Account.
- Once signed in, click on "Find Device" or the Find My icon.
- Click on the drop-down menu and choose the device you wish to disable Find My from.
NOTE: The device must be powered off in order to remove it. - Click "Remove from Account"—not "Erase This Device." This will disable Find My for that device.
